My picks from the Glossybox advent calendar – worth the hype?

If there’s one thing I love about December it’s a good advent calendar and for years I’ve been swooning over a beauty one. Being the absolute diamond he is, Jamie treated me to the Glossybox advent calendar and whilst. Part of me wanted to do the classic au boxing and have a peak; I avoided all spoilers and didn’t even look at the little leaflet that came along with it and I thought I’d share with you my top picks from behind the doors.

The Calendar started strong with the NYX ultimate palette, I’ve had me eye on this for what feels like ages. I absolutely love the shades and I know this palettes going to become a staple in my routine.

I went on to find the Chloe Nomade perfume which I absolutley fell in love with. This is going to be my new go to scent I think, once I‘ve used up what I’ve already got.

The next product I wanted to mention was the Nudestick lip and cheek pencil. I absolutely love how versatile this is, you can use it on your; lips, eyes and cheeks. I’ve only been using it on my lips mind but I do really like the colour of it however I feel as a lip colour it doesn’t have the best stay power but if you can deal with that it’s a lovely lippy.

The calendar included one of my favourite products from The body shop; one of their iconic hand creams. These are a staple for me already as well as their anti bacterial gels. I got the scent Strawberry and I think I’m going to save it for summer.

A new favourite I’ve discovered from my calendar is the LA splash glitter eyeliner. I had heard of the brand beforehand but I don’t think I’ve tried anything from them. This liner is the most gorgeous colour, its comfortable to wear, sits nicely and looks amazing on.

I’ve raved about the Sleek matte lipsticks a thousand times before over here and I was so happy to receive one in my calendar, I got the shade “birthday suit” which was already a favourite of mine so I’m grateful to have a fresh tube lined up for me.

There was a lovely brow crayon tucked away in one of the doors, the ‘Winky lux uni-brow pencil’ which I am really happy with. I usually use either the soap and glory brow archery pencil and gel duo or I use a dark eyeshadow paired with a spoolie. This pencil however is a lovely shade, and it has a great formula.

The next product I found was the Ritual of Sakura body scream which has already become a firm favourite of mine. It has completely replaced my palmers cocoa butter for now. It has a lovely texture to it and it’s left my skin feeling actually hydrated compared to other moisturisers.

The Dr paw paw lip balm seems to be a favourite with the glossybox team as it is with me, through my boxes in the past I received a few of these balms and I opened another in my calendar as well!. I don’t mind however, because I love the product and I’m more than happy to stock up.

Another favourite of the Glossy crew seems to be the Avant skincare range and I can see why; in the last few months I received a few of these through Glossybox and I absolutely love brand. In the calendar it was the hyaluronic day cream and I absolutely love how much it’s brightening my skin.

The last product I want to mention impressed me so much I let out a little ‘eek’ when I opened it. It’s the Tarte park Ave princess chisel palette. I had heard there was a Tarte product in here but I didn’t really want to look and spoil it for myself and I’m glad I didn’t because I felt like a little kid on Christmas when I opened this. I’ve used it every day since. The powders are so creamy, the dreamiest shades and they blend out so, so nicely.

    1. The body shop calendar looks lush every year, it’s always one I forget about until it’s too late though so I always miss out haha!, The Tarte palette was definitely the highlight of this one xx
